NTE: Neverness to Everness added Steam account login on August 19, 2026. NTE Steam login is convenient, but if you already have progress on another account, the order you do things in really matters.
The Trap: Logging In With Steam First
If you launch NTE from Steam and pick the Steam login option right away, the game creates a brand new user ID tied to your Steam account. That Steam account can’t be linked to a different game account afterwards. In other words, you end up with an empty character and no easy way to bring your old progress over.

NTE Steam Login: The Safe Way to Link Your Account
Existing players should log in with their original NTE account first, the same one they used on mobile or the standalone PC client. Once you’re in, open the User Center and go to the Steam section to link your Steam account there. After that, your Steam login points at the account that already has your characters and items.

New Players Can Skip All of This
If you’ve never played NTE before, there’s nothing to protect. Logging in with Steam gets you straight into the game, and you can start fresh in Hethereau without creating a separate account first.

The Bottom Line
Steam login makes NTE easier to jump into on PC, but returning players should always link from inside the game rather than starting with the Steam button. Do it in the right order and your progress follows you.
