Final Fantasy Resonance lands on Steam on October 22, 2026, and the good news is that Square Enix and developer LANCARSE built it for modest hardware. It is a pixel-art RPG, so you will not need a recent graphics card to run it. There is one catch: the game requires Windows 11, which will block some older but otherwise capable PCs.
Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 2300X or Intel Core i3-8100
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6400, Intel Arc A580 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 15 GB available space
- Target: 1920×1080 at 30 FPS, Low preset
Recommended Requirements
- OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2500X or Intel Core i3-8100
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, Intel Arc A580 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 15 GB available space
- Target: 1920×1080 at 60 FPS, Highest preset
What to Expect at Each Tier
At minimum spec you get 1080p at 30 FPS on the Low preset. That is a fairly low bar: a GTX 1650 is a budget card from 2019, and an i3-8100 is a quad-core chip that is now several generations old. If your PC meets it, the game should run, though you should expect lower visual settings and a capped frame rate.
The recommended tier is where it gets interesting. Square Enix lists 1080p at 60 FPS with the Highest preset, yet the GPU is the same GTX 1650 and the CPU barely changes (a Ryzen 5 2500X on the AMD side, the same i3-8100 on Intel). In practice that means the jump from 30 to 60 FPS and from Low to Highest costs very little extra hardware. Both tiers share 8 GB of RAM and 15 GB of storage, so a small SSD slot is enough.
Two caveats. First, these figures are the publisher’s own, and the game is not out yet, so real performance may differ after launch patches and driver updates. Second, the Windows 11 requirement matters more than the hardware list: a PC still on Windows 10 will not meet the listed OS spec, whatever its GPU. A free demo is available on Steam, which is the easiest way to test your own setup before spending money.
Release Date, Platforms and Price
- Release date: October 22, 2026
- Platforms: PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and Switch
- Price on Steam: $49.99
- Genre: RPG, published by Square Enix
At $49.99 it sits at full-price territory for a pixel-art RPG, so it is worth trying the demo first and checking reviews in the first days after launch before you buy. The low hardware bar does make it a reasonable pick for older laptops and budget desktops, as long as they run Windows 11.
