Chained Beasts launches on Steam on October 15, 2026, and the first question for a co-op game like this is whether your PC, or your friend’s PC, can handle it. Featherweight Games has built a gladiator roguelike where up to four players are literally chained together in the arena. The good news: the listed requirements are very low.
Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-5257U or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, or equivalent
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 460, or equivalent
- Notes: at least one gamepad is needed for same-screen co-op
Steam does not list a storage figure or a DirectX version, so keep a few GB free and make sure your drivers are current.
Recommended Requirements
The store page only says the game needs a 64-bit processor and operating system. There is no official recommended spec yet, so treat anything above the minimum, such as a GTX 1060 class card, 16 GB of RAM and a recent quad-core CPU, as a comfortable target rather than an official one.
What to Expect at Each Tier
On the minimum hardware, a GTX 1050 is an entry-level card from 2016, so expect 1080p at modest settings. A roguelike brawler with four players on screen can get busy, and we would not promise a locked 60 fps there until real benchmarks exist. A laptop with integrated graphics is the group most likely to struggle.
With anything newer than a GTX 1060 you should have headroom for higher settings and steady frame rates. Because the game is built around chained movement and timing, a stable frame rate matters more here than visual polish. There is also a Mac build (macOS 11, Apple M1 or Intel i7-6920HQ), so M1 owners are covered.
The downside to know about: same-screen co-op needs controllers, so keyboard-only households will want at least one gamepad. Online co-op, Remote Play Together and cross-platform play are listed too, which helps if your friends live elsewhere.
Release Date, Platforms and Price
Chained Beasts arrives October 15, 2026 on Steam for PC and Mac. A free demo is already on Steam if you want to test performance first, which is the safest way to check your own machine. Fan-run sources point to a base price of $19.99 with a launch discount of about 35 percent, but the Steam page did not show a price when we checked, so confirm it on the store. The game is also reported for Switch, Switch 2 and Xbox Game Pass, though you should verify that with the publisher.
Specs come from the official Steam listing and may change at launch.
