Tenebris Somnia System Requirements: Can Your PC Run It?

Tenebris Somnia hits PC on October 16. Here are the minimum and recommended specs, what each tier means, and whether your rig can run it.

Tenebris Somnia lands on PC on October 16, 2026, and the good news up front: this is a 2D retro survival horror game, so the hardware bar is low. Most gaming PCs from the last several years will run it, and plenty of older office machines will too. Here is what the Steam page lists and what it means in practice.

Minimum Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit or later
  • Processor: 2.4 GHz dual core
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 4 GB of VRAM, DirectX 11
  • Storage: 13 GB available space

Recommended Requirements

  • OS: Windows 11 64-bit
  • Processor: 3.6 GHz quad core
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 8 GB of VRAM, DirectX 11
  • Storage: 13 GB available space

What to Expect at Each Tier

At the minimum spec you should get the game running, but the 4 GB VRAM line is the one to watch. Integrated graphics on older laptops may struggle even though the art style looks simple, because the game also plays live-action cutscenes, and those can be heavier than the 2D sprites suggest. Expect to stay at lower settings and keep other apps closed.

The recommended tier is a comfortable target. A mid-range card with 8 GB of VRAM and 16 GB of RAM should handle the game and its video sequences without stutter. Nothing here calls for a high-end GPU, so spending money on an upgrade just for this game makes no sense. The 13 GB install size is the same on both tiers, and an SSD is a good idea mainly to keep loading short.

One caveat: the specs on Steam are pre-release numbers, and the developers may adjust them at launch. We will update this page if they do.

Release Date, Platforms and Price

Tenebris Somnia is made by Saibot Studios and published by New Blood Interactive. It launches October 16, 2026 on PC via Steam, plus PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and Switch 2. The digital price had not been announced at the time of writing; physical editions on console start at £29.99. The game is a survival horror adventure in the vein of the early Silent Hill and Resident Evil titles, with puzzles, a pistol and shotgun for combat, and a story about Julia searching for her missing ex-boyfriend in a parallel world.
