STAR WARS: Galactic Racer System Requirements: Can Your PC Run It?

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer launches Oct 6 on PC. See the minimum and recommended specs, SSD needs, and what to expect on older GPUs.

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer lands on PC on October 6, 2026, and the Steam page already lists a modest minimum spec. If you have a GPU from the last six or seven years, you are probably close. Here is what the game asks for, and what to expect at each tier.

Minimum Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 (some early listings said Windows 11)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • RAM: 12 GB
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060, Intel Arc A580 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (6 GB VRAM)
  • Storage: 50 GB, SSD required

Recommended Requirements

The Steam page only shows the minimum list at the moment. Earlier announcement coverage reported these recommended specs, so treat them as likely but not final:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or Intel Arc B580
  • Storage: SSD with at least 50 GB free

The developer has said specs may change before launch, so check the Steam page on release day.

What to Expect at Each Tier

At the minimum spec, plan on 1080p with lower settings and a frame rate that holds near 60 at best. An RTX 2060 is an older card, and a racing game with fast scenery streaming will punish a slow drive, which is why the SSD line is not a suggestion. Installing it on a hard disk is likely to cause stutter and slow loads.

The recommended tier should give you smooth 1080p at high settings and a reasonable shot at 1440p if you tune a few options. With 16 GB of RAM you also avoid the memory pressure that shows up when a browser and Discord sit open in the background. Players with 12 GB should close other apps before a session.

The game also supports a gamepad and keyboard with mouse, but Steam marks a controller as recommended. A pad suits a racer like this better anyway.

Release Date, Platforms and Price

  • Release date: October 6, 2026
  • Platforms: PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X|S
  • Price: $59.99 Standard, $79.99 Deluxe
  • Developer / Publisher: Fuse Games / Secret Mode

It is a full-price release from a smaller studio, so a short wait for first impressions and early patches is a fair move if your PC sits near the minimum line. If you meet the recommended tier and like arcade-style racing with a Star Wars skin, it is worth watching the first reviews.
