Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 arrives on Steam on October 14, 2026, and the good news is that Auroch Digital kept the hardware bar low. The sequel to the 2023 retro boomer shooter lists a GTX 980 as the minimum card, so a lot of older gaming PCs will be fine. Here are the Boltgun 2 system requirements from the Steam page.

One oddity: the recommended CPU list includes a Ryzen 5 1500X, which is older and slower than the minimum Ryzen 5 2600. Treat the CPU lines as rough guidance and expect any quad-core from the last eight years to cope.

What to Expect at Each Tier
At the minimum spec you are looking at 1080p on Low and a locked 60 FPS, which for a fast first-person shooter full of demons is the number that matters. A GTX 980 is a 2014 card, so this tier covers plenty of budget builds and older laptops with discrete graphics.
The recommended tier moves you to High settings at the same 1080p and 60 FPS target. Neither listing says anything about 1440p, 4K or high refresh rates, so if you own a 144Hz monitor, plan on a mid-range card from the last few generations and lower a setting or two rather than expecting miracles. The game keeps the chunky, low-poly look of the first Boltgun, which helps explain why the demands stay modest.

Storage is the easy part: 13 GB is small by current standards, though an SSD will still keep level loads short. The Steam page does not mention Steam Deck status yet, so check the page after launch before assuming it runs well on handheld.
Release Date, Platforms and Price
Boltgun 2 launches on October 14, 2026 on PC through Steam, plus PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Switch 2 version is planned for later with no date. The price is $24.99, with a 10% pre-purchase discount that brings it to $22.49 until launch day. Note that it carries a mature rating for violence, blood and gore.
