Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter arrives on September 16, 2026, continuing Estelle Bright’s journey across Liberl in Nihon Falcom’s remake of the classic JRPG series. Before you buy it on Steam, here’s what your PC needs to run it.
Official Minimum PC Requirements
Nihon Falcom has confirmed the minimum specs below. Recommended specs were not published at the time of writing, which is consistent with how the studio handled the 1st Chapter too.
Minimum Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
- DirectX: Version 11
- Target: 1080p at 60 FPS, Performance Graphics Profile
What These Specs Mean in Practice
The minimum requirements are identical to Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, which runs on the same engine. If your PC handled that game without issues, the 2nd Chapter will behave the same way.
A GTX 1050 is modest by 2026 standards. Cards from the GTX 1060 and up will hit 1080p/60 FPS comfortably on higher settings. For 1440p, something in the GTX 1660 Super or RX 5600 XT range is a reasonable target, though Falcom hasn’t officially confirmed a recommended tier yet.
One practical tip: a free demo is available on Steam right now. Running it is the most reliable way to check actual performance on your hardware before buying.
Storage and Other Notes
No official storage figure was listed at time of writing. The 1st Chapter needed 25 GB, so budget at least that much. An SSD is not required, but it speeds up area transitions noticeably. DirectX 11 support is the minimum, meaning very old GPUs without DX11 won’t run the game.
Release Date, Platforms, and Price
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter releases on September 16, 2026 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Nihon Falcom and co-published with GungHo Online Entertainment America and Clouded Leopard Entertainment. A Digital Deluxe Edition is available on Steam that bundles the main game with the Season Pass.
